Holy Land 10 days tour

________________________________________DAY 1 – TEL AVIV: Arrival at Ben Gurion Airport. You will be met at airport and transfer to Jaffa to visit St. Peter’s Church celebrate Mass and then visit the artistic quarter before proceeding to Tel Aviv. Dinner and Overnight at Hotel.

DAY 2 – CAESAREA / HAIFA / MEGIDDO / TIBERIAS: This morning drive along the Mediterranean to the beautiful city of Caesarea to visit the ruins of the Crusader’s City, surrounded by a moat and city wall enclosing the ruins. Paul was imprisoned here and sailed for Rome from this port. The first Gentile, Cornelius, was baptized here. Visit the Roman Theater where the name of Pilate was found engraved on a stone. Drive to Haifa. Visit Mt. Carmel, renowned for the contest for Monotheism and Paganism. The prophet Elijah confronted the priests of Baal and confounded them at Al Muhrakah. Continue to Megiddo, Armageddon, a very important strategic point on the Via Maris connecting Egypt and Damascus. It is the city which has witnessed many wars and suffered many destructions throughout the different periods of time. It is believed by some that the last battle will be on the plains below Megiddo. Dinner and Overnight at Hotel.

DAY 3 – BOAT RIDE / CAPHERNAUM / TABGHA / MT. BEATITUDES / TABOR: This morning board a boat on the calm surface of the Sea of Galilee to Capernaum; the city where Jesus started His Ministry and the site of the Synagogue where He taught. View St. Peter’s House. Proceed to Tabgha, the site of the Multiplication of Loaves and Fish. See the 4th century mosaics. Drive to the top of the Mt. of Beatitudes where Jesus preached the Sermon on the Mount. Drive to the top of Mt. Tabor by taxi. Visit the site of the Transfiguration. Proceed to exit of the Jordan River from the Sea of Galilee for Baptismal Service before returning to the hotel in Tiberias. Balance of the day at leisure. Dinner and Overnight at Hotel.
DAY 4 – CANA / NAZARETH / GOLAN HEIGHTS: Drive to Cana where the first miracle took place, the Transformation of Water into Wine. Then drive through the Jezrell Valley where Gideon, with 300 soldiers, defeated the midianites. Continue to Nazareth, tracing the early life of the Holy Family. Visit the Church of the Annunciation. Then visit Mary’s Well. Proceed to the Golan Heights in the Upper Galilee. Visit the sources of the Jordan River and Tal Dan. Drive to the ruins of Bethsaida, the hometown of Peter and Andrew and Philip. On to the Golan Heights. Visit the sources of the Jordan River at the Caesarea Philippi where Peter made his confession of faith after Jesus asked. “Whom do men say that I am?”. View Mt. Tabor, believed by many early Christians to be the site of the Transfiguration. Return to Tiberias. Dinner and Overnight at Hotel.

DAY 5 – JORDAN VELLEY / JERICHO / GOOD SAMARITAN / BETHANY: Drive along the Jordan Valley to Beit She’an visit the Roman Amphitheatre, then continue to Jericho the lowest spot on earth, visit Mt. of Temptation where Satan tempted Jesus when He fasted for forty days. Visit Elijah’s Fountain. Visit the ruins of Tel El Sultan, ruins of one of the oldest cities in the world. Continue to visit the Inn of the Good Samaritan, drive to Bethany and visit the new Church, the house of Mary and Martha, visit the Tomb of Lazarus on to your hotel in Jerusalem. Dinner and Overnights at Hotel.

DAY 6 – MT. OF OLIVES / BETHLEHEM: Drive to the Mt. of Olives with its outstanding view of the city. Visit the Chapel of Ascension, Church of Pater Noster, Dominus Flevit, Garden of Gethsemane, Church of All Nations. View the Kidron Valley. In the afternoon, drive to Bethlehem; for a visit to the Church of Nativity, visit the Shepherd’s Fields and the Fields of Boaz and Ruth. Back to hotel in Jerusalem. Dinner and Overnight at Hotel.
DAY 7 – MT. ZION / NEW CITY / EIN KAREM: Drive to Mt. Zion, the site where Jesus accomplished His Ministry. Visit the room of Last Supper. Visit the Tomb of King David and the House of Caiaphas; visit the Church of St. Peter’s in Gallicantu. Proceed to the New City; visit the Knesset, or the House of Parliament. Yad Vashem, visit the Israel Museum and the Shrine of the book enclosing the Scrolls of the Dead Sea. Visit the model of Jerusalem as it was laid out at the time of Christ. Proceed to Ein Karem, visit the place of the Visitation, view the plaques with the Magnificat is most languages of the world, visit the parish church of St. John the Baptist and the Grotto of his birth. Dinner and Overnight at Hotel.
DAY 8 – JEWISH / CHRISTIAN / MOSLEM SHRINES: Proceed towards the city walls built by Suleiman the Magnificient enclosing the Holy sites. Walk into the old city through Damascus Gate and through the picturesque colorful bazaars to the superb Temple Area, where Solomon’s Temple was built on Mt. Moriah. Visit the Dome of the Rock enclosing the Rock of Sacrifice; the Mosque of Al Aksa, further south, the Pinnacle of the Temple and the Western Wall or the Wailing Wall. Visit the Church of Saint Ann in the afternoon, start at St. Stephen’s Gate and back into the Old City to visit the Pool of Bethesda, Lithostrots, Pilate’s Judgment Hall and walk on the Via Dolorosa leading you to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Walk through the bazaars to the Citadel and take the bus from Jaffa Gate. Visit the Garden Tomb and Gordon’s Calvary. Dinner and Overnight at Hotel.
DAY 9 – MASSADA / QUMRAN / DEAD SEA: Depart this morning to visit Massada where you will ascend by cable car to visit the remarkable ruins of the fortress, built by Herod the Great, and where from 70 to 73 A.D.; Jewish Zealots made their last stand in the Judean revolt against the Roman Legions. See the remains of Herod’s Palace; the Apartments, Baths, Storehouses and water cisterns – all used by the Jewish Defender who took refugee here. Continue to Ein Bokek time for swimming in the Dead Sea then proceed to Qumran, the site where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found in caved by shepherd boy. Return to Jerusalem. Dinner and Overnight at Hotel.
DAY 10 – JERUSALEM / AIRPOT: This morning drive to airport for departure.
